The Cactus

"The Cactus has humilty, but is not submissive. It grows where no other plant will grow. It does not complain when the sun bakes its back or wind tears it from cliffs or drowns it in dry sand. When rain comes it stores water for hard times to come. In good times and bad times it will still flower. It protects itself against danger, but harms no other plant. It adapst perfectly to almost any environment. It has properties that heal the wounds of men. It is the plant of patience and solitude, love and madness, ugliness and beauty, toughness and gentleness"- The Power of One (Bryce Courtenay)

Set in Stone

"Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed"
- Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley

Till the cows come home

"Cows are notoriously languid creatures and make their way home at their own unhurried Pace"

My first post is of these pictures I took of cows on the beach in the Transkei. I think it is apt to begin my blogging with “till the cows come home”; I will be here for a long but indefinite time hoping to inspire you with my photos and thoughts.
